September School Holidays

Our Mountaincraft School is a prime example of the overarching aim of our Adventure Schools - to get young people interacting with the great New Zealand outdoors.

SCOUTS New Zealand's Mount Ruapehu Lodge provided a base camp for Rovers and Venturers over 16 to learn mountaineering skills such as rock-climbing, and how to navigate a glacier using ropes. We were pleased to welcome an exchange Scout from Denmark. 

The heavy snowfall enabled the young people to work together to build a snow cave of gigantic proportions.
